Step 2: Connect and Test the Wired Auxiliary Camera:

A. Connect the Auxiliary Camera to SafetyCam Plus:

  • Use the pre-fitted 8-meter (26 feet) cable that comes with the Auxiliary Camera to establish a direct connection to the SafetyCam Plus.
  • This step is crucial for enabling the Auxiliary Camera's functionality.

B. Ensure Secure Connections between Auxiliary Camera and SafetyCam Plus:

  • Verify that the connection between the Auxiliary Camera and SafetyCam Plus is firm and stable.
  • A secure connection is essential for the system's reliability and performance.

C. Connect the SafetyCam Plus to the OBD-II Port:

  • For OBD-II Connection: Connect via Y-Cable
    • Plug the male end of the Y-cable into the vehicle’s diagnostic port.
    • Connect the OBD-II device to one of the female ends of the Y-cable.
    • Attach the connector end of the SafetyCam’s power cable to the other female end of the Y-cable.
    • Connect the remaining end of the power cable to the SafetyCam to complete the setup.

  • For OEM Connection: Connect directly to the OBD-II Port
    • Position the connector end of the SafetyCam’s power cable with the vehicle's diagnostic port.
    • Push the connector securely into the vehicle's diagnostic port. Confirm that the connector is securely in place by slightly pulling on it to check for a snug fit.
    • Connect the other end of the power cable to the SafetyCam Plus to complete the setup.

D. Power and Test:

E. Verify all Connections:

  • Ensure all connections are secure.
  • Confirm that the Auxiliary Camera is securely connected to the SafetyCam Plus using the pre-fitted extension cable.
  • Verify that the SafetyCam Plus and the Auxiliary Camera are receiving power from the vehicle’s OBD-II power supply via the Y-cable.

F. Cable Management:

  • Run the power cable along the headliner of the vehicle.
  • Route the wire down the A-pillar to the power source.
  • Power your SafetyCam using the OBD-II port.
Note: Do not mount the Auxiliary Camera until Step 4.

Step 3: Adjust the Auxiliary Camera Viewing Angles

  1. Ensure SafetyCam Association for Live Streaming:
    • Before starting Live Streaming, make sure the SafetyCam is properly associated with the vehicle. Without this association, the SafetyCam details will not appear on the Azuga platform (both mobile or web), and Live Streaming for adjusting viewing angles will not be possible.
  2. Utilize Azuga Fleet Mobile (AFM) app:
    • The Azuga Fleet Mobile (AFM) app is highly recommended for adjusting the Auxiliary Camera's viewing angles. Its user-friendly interface allows operators to quickly and effectively make the necessary adjustments while on the go.
  3. Live Streaming Feature:
    • The Live Streaming feature is crucial for real-time monitoring and adjustments. Users can view the camera feed live, ensuring they can make precise angle alterations based on current conditions.

  • Allow the adhesive to set for a few minutes to keep the Auxiliary Camera stable and prevent any movement.

Step 5: Confirm Successful Installation

  • Press the emergency button on the camera after every installation. This action should trigger a "Button Pressed" event.
  • This is a mandatory check to verify that the camera has been installed correctly and is functioning as expected.
  • Within 10 minutes, the event video will be uploaded to the Azuga platform.
  • This step is crucial to validate the main camera installation and ensure that events are being successfully uploaded to the system.
