Step 2: Connect and Test the Wired Auxiliary Camera:

A. Connect the Splitter Cable to SafetyCam Pro:

  1. Attach the camera connector of the Splitter cable (also known as the OBD-II Aux Connector) to the camera port on the SafetyCam Pro. This connector is specifically designed to handle the video and data signals from the camera.
  2. Next, connect the power connector of the Splitter cable to the power port on the SafetyCam Pro. This step ensures the camera remains powered throughout its operation.

B. Attach the Auxiliary Extension Cables to the Splitter Cable:

  1. The Splitter cable supports up to four wired Auxiliary Cameras, each connected to one of the following dedicated channels: TVI-1, TVI-2, TVI-3, and TVI-4.
  2. To ensure proper channel configuration and optimal system performance, assign each Auxiliary Camera to a dedicated TVI channel in the correct sequence.
    • For one camera, use TVI-1
    • For two cameras, use TVI-1 and TVI-2
    • For three cameras, use TVI-1, TVI-2, and TVI-3
    • For four cameras, use all four channels sequentially — TVI-1 through TVI-4

Following this orders ensures each camera is correctly recognized by the system and functions as intended.

3.A. Side Auxiliary Cameras:

  • Use a 5-meter (16 feet) extension cable for each Side Auxiliary Camera.
  • Connect one end of the extension cable to the Side Auxiliary Camera.
  • Plug the other end into an available TVI channels on the Splitter cable in sequential order.

3.B. Rear Auxiliary Cameras:

  • Use a 10-meter (32 Fleet) extension cable for each Rear Auxiliary Camera.
  • Connect one end of the extension cable to the Rear Auxiliary Camera.
  • Plug the other end into an available TVI channels on the Splitter cable in sequential order.

C. Secure the Circular Connection on the Splitter Cable:

  1. Align and connect the two corresponding circular connectors on the Splitter cable, ensuring the pins are properly matched. Secure the connection by tightening the threaded sleeve.
Note: Double-check that the pins are correctly aligned before fastening to prevent any potential damage.

D. Connect the SafetyCam Pro to the OBD-II Port:

  • For OBD-II Connections: Connect via Y-Cable
  1. After the circular connectors on the Splitter cable is securely connected, take the free end of this assembly and connect it to one of the female connectors on the Y-cable.
  2. Connect the OBD-II device to the other available female connector on the Y-cable.
  3. Lastly, plug the male end of the Y-cable into the vehicle’s diagnostic port (OBD-II port) to complete the connection.

  • For OEM Connections: Connect the Splitter Cable directly to the OBD-II Port:
  1. Position the remaining connector of the Splitter cable with the vehicle's diagnostic port.
  2. Push the Splitter cable connector securely into the vehicle’s diagnostic port.
  3. Confirm that the Splitter cable connector is securely in place by slightly pulling on it to check for a snug fit.

E. Power and Test

  1. Refer to the Installation Guide for SafetyCam Plus & SafetyCam Pro for instructions on powering the SafetyCam Pro, testing it, and checking the LED indicators to ensure proper setup and operation.

F. Verify All Connections:

  1. Ensure all connections are secure.
  2. Confirm that all extension cables are firmly connected to the Auxiliary Cameras and the Splitter cable.
  3. Verify that the SafetyCam Pro and all Auxiliary Cameras are receiving power from the vehicle’s OBD-II power supply via the Y-cable.

G. Cable Management:

  1. Run the power cable along the headliner of the vehicle.
  2. Route the wire down the A-pillar to the power source.
  3. Power your SafetyCam using the OBD-II port.

Step 3: Adjust the Auxiliary Camera Viewing Angles:

  1. Ensure SafetyCam Association for Live Streaming:
    • Before starting Live Streaming, make sure the SafetyCam is properly associated with the vehicle. Without this association, the SafetyCam details will not appear on the Azuga platform (both mobile or web), and Live Streaming for adjusting viewing angles will not be possible.
  2. Utilize the Azuga Fleet Mobile (AFM) App:
    • The Azuga Fleet Mobile (AFM) app is highly recommended for adjusting the Auxiliary Camera's viewing angles. Its user-friendly interface allows operators to quickly and effectively make the necessary adjustments while on the go.
  3. Live Streaming Feature:
    • The Live Streaming feature is crucial for real-time monitoring and adjustments. Users can view the camera feed live, ensuring they can make precise angle alterations based on current conditions.

For detailed guidance on the association and viewing angle adjustments, refer to the links below.

Step 4: Securely Mount the Auxiliary Camera:

Once the Auxiliary Cameras are connected to the SafetyCam Pro, follow these steps to mount them securely:

  1. Choose the Mounting Location: Select an appropriate spot on the vehicle's side or rear, ensuring it provides an optimal view for tracking and monitoring.
  2. Attach the Mounting Bracket:
    • For Dome Auxiliary Camera: Use the supplied brackets to securely mount the Auxiliary Camera onto the vehicle’s side structure.

    • For Square Auxiliary Camera: Use the supplied brackets to securely mount the Auxiliary Camera onto the vehicle’s rear structure.

  1. Ensure Secure Attachment: Align the brackets properly and fasten them tightly to prevent movement during operation.

  1. Attach the Mounting Bracket: Check that the Auxiliary Camera is firmly attached and does not wobble. Test its stability by gently shaking the mounted structure.

Step 5: Confirm Successful Installation:

  1. Press the emergency button on the camera after every installation. This action should trigger a "Button Pressed" event.
  2. This is a mandatory check to verify that the camera has been installed correctly and is functioning as expected.
  3. Within 10 minutes, the event video will be uploaded to the Azuga platform.
  4. This step is crucial to validate the main camera installation and ensure that events are being successfully uploaded to the system.
