How do I check if my Azuga GPS device is working?
To check if your Azuga GPS device is in working condition, please follow the below steps:
1. Re-seat your device.
Remove the device and plug it back into the OBD port of your vehicle after 5 minutes. If the device works fine, then all the LEDs will flash once.
First, the LED will be green indicating the device connection. Then it turns amber, indicating GPS location fix, and finally, it will be red, indicating that the communication has been established.
The LED light sequence is as follows:
- Green LED turns on solid - indicating engine crank status
- Green LED turns off (approximately 10-15 seconds)
- The Green LED blinks while the engine is running
- Amber LED blinks - indicating the unit is acquiring a GPS fix
- Amber LED turns solid - indicating the GPS fix has been acquired
- Red LED blinks - indicating the unit is registering with the telecom/carrier network
- Red LED turns solid - indicating the unit is registered to the telecom/carrier network
If the unit cannot acquire a GPS fix and the Amber LED continues to blink, the Red LED will turn solid after approximately five minutes
First, the LED will be green indicating the device connection. Then it turns amber, indicating GPS location fix, and finally, it will be red, indicating that the communication has been established. The LED will blink once during subsequent trips.
2. Determine the location of your vehicle.
Make sure that your vehicle is in an area with adequate GPS coverage. If the vehicle is in a parking deck, garage, or residential garage, then move it to an open location where it is easier to get the GPS location. The vehicle needs to be driven around for a couple of minutes.
