April Updates
New Feature:
- Azuga Fleet Mobile automatically detects nearby equipment beacons on driver login to improve visibility when asset trackers are out of range. Detection runs in the background via Bluetooth, with no manual action required. Equipment continues to appear on the live map and other screens, now showing “With” (phone icon), alongside “With” (tracker icon), and “Dropped” statuses.
Improvements:
- French (Canada) is now available as a language option across the Azuga Fleet Mobile app, offering a more localized experience for Canadian users. Users can select this language from the login screen, app settings, and other supported interfaces for a more familiar and seamless experience.
- The in-app messaging system has been enhanced on the backend to improve reliability and long-term performance. Messaging continues to work as before.
Production Issue:
- Engine hours were displayed differently on mobile and web. Mobile showed days–hours–minutes, while the web displayed hours only. To ensure consistency across platforms, the mobile app has been updated to display engine hours in hours only.

Azuga Fleet Mobile now introduces mobile-based BLE beacon detection to enhance equipment visibility for customers. This feature complements existing asset trackers by improving trackability when trackers are out of range or unable to capture signals in certain areas.
Previously, beacon detection relied solely on dedicated asset trackers. With this release, mobile devices can now detect nearby BLE beacons and send detection data to the server, improving visibility in tracker-limited scenarios.

What’s New:
- Automatic Beacon Scanning (Driver Login): When a driver logs into the app, the mobile device automatically scans for nearby BLE beacons in the background using Bluetooth. This process runs silently with no manual action required and no changes to the driver interface.
- Phone-Based Detection: The driver’s mobile device acts as an additional detection source, identifying nearby beacons and sending data to the server when trackers are out of range.
- Enhanced Equipment Visibility: Equipment continues to appear on the Equipment Live map and other screens, now with an additional “With” (phone icon) status alongside “With” (tracker icon) and “Dropped” statuses.
- Equipment Visibility on Live Screen: Beacons detected via mobile are reflected in the existing Equipment Live view, providing a unified tracking experience alongside tracker-based detections. Equipment details are available in this view, allowing admins to easily access and monitor equipment information.
- Steps to Navigate:
- From the App’s home screen, select the Equipment tile
- From the Equipment Live page, swipe up to view All Items list
- A phone icon helps differentiates mobile-based detections from hardware tracker detections.
- Admins can view details such as:
- Driver associated with the detection
- Equipment name
- Group and location address
- Detection source (phone or tracker)
- Steps to Navigate:

- Unified Equipment View: Admins can view a list of all equipment detected via mobile tracking, similar to existing tracker-based visibility.
Key Benefits:
This enhancement allows customers to:
- Eliminate reliance on dedicated hardware trackers
- Enables mobile-first tracking using driver devices
- Improve coverage and real-time visibility of beacon-equipped assets
| Note: This new feature has been implemented on both Android and iOS. |
