PDF copy of Revamped SafetyCam Page & New Settings Feature: [Customer] Revamped SafetyCam Page & New Settings Feature - User Guide

Overview:

The SafetyCam Settings feature lets users conveniently view and manage camera configuration settings directly from the Azuga web platform, offering greater control over device operations.

With this update, the SafetyCam page has been revamped for a cleaner, more user-friendly experience — making it easier to search vehicles, view camera details, and manage settings in one place.

This guide covers how to navigate the updated SafetyCam page and access, view, and modify settings for AI SafetyCam and SafetyCam Plus/Pro devices.

Mandatory Notes — Please Read Before Proceeding:

Before exploring the SafetyCam Settings feature and the revamped SafetyCam table, it is critical to review the following guidelines. These precautions are essential to maintain system integrity and avoid unintended disruptions to your devices.

  1. Camera Settings apply exclusively to AI SafetyCam and SafetyCam Plus/Pro devices in your account.

  2. Changes to settings will take effect on the next trip and will not apply immediately or during an ongoing trip.

  3. Access to modify settings is privilege-controlled — only users with the ‘SafetyCam Settings’ privilege can edit configurations. Others will have view-only access.

Accessing SafetyCam Page:

  1. Log in to the Azuga Fleet web platform.
  2. Navigate to Admin >> Devices >> SafetyCam New.

SafetyCam Page Overview:

Total SafetyCams in the account, with a breakdown by:

  1. SafetyCam Pro
  2. SafetyCam Plus
  3. AI SafetyCam
  4. Basic SafetyCam

Filtering Options:

Use the available filters to quickly locate specific cameras based on their status:

  • Connected – Indicates the camera is installed correctly and has a recorded last connected date.
  • Not Connected – The camera has yet to be installed or has not been installed correctly.
  • Associated – The camera is properly associated with a vehicle.
  • Unassociated – The camera is not yet associated with any vehicle.

Table Fields:

  • Serial Number: Displays the camera’s unique serial number.
  • Vehicle Name: Shows the name of the vehicle associated with the camera.
  • Product: Displays the name of the camera model.
    • SafetyCam Plus = PLUS-4
    • SafetyCam Pro = PRO-4
    • AI SafetyCam = AI-120/AI-120-4
    • Basic SafetyCam = AZ-D007
  • Activation Date:   Indicates the date when the camera was added to the customer’s account.
  • Group: Indicates the fleet group or category the vehicle belongs to.
  • FW Version: For Next-Gen Cameras (SafetyCam Plus/Pro), the firmware version is displayed in a date-based format. For example, 20250509_1628 follows the YYYYMMDD format, indicating the firmware was developed on May 9, 2025. This makes it easy for users to quickly check how current the firmware is, directly from the platform.

  • Last Connected: Displays the timestamp of the camera’s most recent connection, with the time zone based on the system time.

Additional Table Features:

  • Sorting Functionality: Hover over a column header to see a sorting arrow. Click the column header to sort the table.
  • Search Functionality: Search cameras by multiple fields for easy access to specific records.
  • Export Option: Export table data as PDF or XLSX files for reporting or record-keeping.

  • Customize Columns: Add/remove fields via “+” and “x” icons, then Save.

  • Edit or Access Settings via the three-dots menu — apply settings at the individual device level.

Applying Settings: Account-Level vs Device-Level:

The SafetyCam settings can be applied at two different levels — account-wide for all cameras within an account or individually for specific devices.

  1. Account-Level Settings:
    1. This settings option is available at the account level and applies to all cameras within that account.
    2. Navigate to Admin >> Devices >> SafetyCam New.
    3. Click the Settings (gear icon) at the top-right corner of the page to manage global settings for the account.
  2. Device-Level Settings:
    1. This option enables configuration of settings for an individual camera.
    2. In the SafetyCam table, locate the desired device.
    3. Click the three-dot menu at the end of the row and select Settings (gear icon).
    4. Any changes made here will apply only to the selected device.

Account-Level Settings Configurations:

The SafetyCam settings feature enables customers to configure camera behavior and event preferences through the web platform.

  • Supported Camera Types: The new Settings option is available for the following camera types:
    • SafetyCam Plus/Pro
    • AI SafetyCam
  • If a customer account includes both camera types, a drop-down menu will be provided to select the specific camera model. Based on the selection, the relevant settings can be viewed and modified.

SafetyCam Settings Categories:

Camera settings are organized into the following categories:

  1. Device Settings

Events Settings for SafetyCam Plus/Pro & AI SafetyCam:

  • Note for Sensitivity: A higher sensitivity setting will trigger more events, while a lower sensitivity setting will result in fewer events being triggered.
  • Note for Event Media:
    • Video: A video clip capturing the exact event trigger time, along with footage recorded before and after the event, will be saved.
    • Snapshot: A single image of the event (for example, not wearing a seatbelt) will be captured instead of video.
    • Event: No video or snapshot will be recorded; only the event itself will be triggered and logged on the Azuga platform.
  • Note: Setting changes on the device are applied quickly. For example, if an audio alert is turned off, the updated setting is immediately pushed to the cloud. However, this change will not be applied during an active trip. The new setting will become effective from the next trip onward.
