ELD Android - March Updates 2025

New Integration:

➔ We’ve implemented Single Sign-On (SSO) between Azuga FleetMobile (AFM) and the ELD app, allowing drivers to seamlessly switch between the two apps without needing to log in separately. This integration helps streamline the driver experience while maintaining secure access.

New Feature:

➔ The ELD Android app now notifies users if their device does not meet the minimum hardware requirements. If a device has less than 3GB RAM or an outdated Android OS version, users will see a warning message prompting them to upgrade their hardware for optimal app performance.

Improvements:

➔ We've improved Bluetooth Reconnection Alerting in the ELD Android app! Now, momentary disconnections will not trigger excessive alerts. The app will attempt a silent reconnection for up to 5 minutes and automatically restore the previous driving status upon reconnection.

➔ Drivers now have more control over their logs in the Logbook Mode! The Logbook mode now includes a Delete button, allowing drivers to remove logs when needed. Additionally, log edits will no longer be visibly tracked, ensuring a cleaner logbook experience.

➔ We’ve refined the Annotate Incorrect Driving workflow by removing the unnecessary odometer field, ensuring a cleaner and more streamlined log correction process for drivers.

New Integration

Single Sign-On Integration for Azuga FleetMobile (AFM) and ELD App

With this integration, drivers can now access the ELD App directly from AFM without re-entering credentials, streamlining the login process and improving user experience.

  • "Login with FleetMobile" Button: A new "Login with FleetMobile" button is available on the ELD login screen (for the main driver only).
  • Automatic App Download: If the ELD App is not installed, clicking on the ELD tile inside AFM will prompt users to download it.
  • Seamless Authentication: Upon tapping "Login with FleetMobile," the app retrieves an authentication token from AFM and logs the user in. If authentication fails, an appropriate error message is displayed.

This enhancement eliminates redundant logins, ensuring a smoother transition between AFM and the ELD app.

New Feature

RAM and OS Warning Message

To ensure a smooth and reliable experience, the ELD Android app now checks device compatibility at launch. If the device does not meet the minimum hardware requirements, users will receive a warning message with options to continue using the app or close it.

Minimum Supported Hardware:

  • RAM: 4GB and above (warning displayed if RAM is less than 3GB)
  • OS Version: Android 6+ (warning displayed for Android 5 and below)

Improvements

Bluetooth Reconnection Alerting

To enhance the driver experience and reduce unnecessary alerts, we’ve introduced Bluetooth silent reconnections for the ELD Android app.

Key improvements include:

  • 5-Minute Silent Reconnection Window: If Bluetooth disconnects, the app will retry reconnecting for up to 5 minutes without generating any audible alerts. Notifications will still be displayed but without sound.
  • Auto-Resume Driving Status: Once reconnected, the app will automatically restore the driver’s previous ELD status, ensuring seamless state restoration.

Logbook Mode

We've enhanced Logbook mode to give drivers more control over their records in Logbook Mode. Drivers can now delete logs directly, allowing for easier management and adjustments. Additionally, when a driver edits their logs in the Logbook Mode, those edits will no longer be visibly tracked, ensuring a smoother experience. These improvements make logbook mode more flexible and user-friendly.

Annotate Incorrect Driving Section

We’ve refined the Annotate Incorrect Driving workflow by removing the unnecessary odometer field, ensuring a cleaner and more streamlined log correction process for drivers. Previously, when drivers annotated an incorrect driving event, the odometer field was displayed but was not required for this action. With this update, the odometer field has been removed, allowing drivers to edit automatic driving statuses more efficiently without needing to input odometer readings. This enhancement improves usability and aligns with standard logging practices.
