Overview
The WEX–Azuga integration brings together WEX fuel card transaction data and Azuga’s telematics platform to help fleet managers control and monitor fuel expenses. By automatically ingesting WEX transaction files into Azuga, customers can centralize fuel data, reduce manual reconciliation, and identify potential misuse or discrepancies.
Integration Summary and Key Benefits
Automatic Transaction Ingestion
- WEX uploads a masked transaction file (via SFTP) on a defined schedule. Azuga retrieves and maps these files to vehicles based on VIN (or another identifier).
Centralized Fuel Expense Management
- Consolidate all transaction data in Azuga to streamline administrative tasks like reconciling receipts and preparing IFTA reports.
Discrepancy Detection
- Azuga compares transaction data with mileage or usage patterns to highlight potential fuel theft or irregular purchases.
Reduced Manual Work
- Minimizes the need for manual entry or reconciliation of fuel card transactions.
Integration Setup Process
To get started, customers need to first reach out to WEX:
- Get in touch with their Account Manager at WEX
- Send an email to CSWEXLINK@wexinc.com or call 1-833-225-5939
- (Customers should keep their WEX account number handy)

Prerequisites
✅ WEX Data Exchange Authorization – The customer must sign the WEX Data Exchange Authorization form to allow data sharing with Azuga.
✅ WEX SFTP Credentials – WEX provides SFTP details for Azuga to retrieve transaction files.
✅ Unique Vehicle Identifier – VIN is the primary identifier for matching records in Azuga and WEX.
✅ Data Format and Naming Conventions – WEX provides sample file specifications and naming conventions for Azuga’s L2 team.
✅ Azuga Account – A valid Azuga Account ID is needed for transaction mapping.
Integration Setup Steps
1. Complete the WEX Authorization Form
- Fill out the form with the required WEX account information.
- Select file frequency (daily, weekly, or monthly) and tax reporting options.
- Return the signed form to WEX.
2. Obtain SFTP Credentials from WEX
- WEX processes the request and provides SFTP details (URL, username, password).
3. Provide Integration Details to Azuga (L1 Team)
- Send SFTP credentials and file format specifications.
- Confirm vehicle identifier (VIN) for mapping.
4. Azuga L2 Configuration and Testing
- Azuga configures the system to retrieve WEX files automatically.
- Conducts test imports to verify data accuracy.
5. Integration Go-Live
- Once testing is successful, Azuga L2 notifies Support and the customer.
- The system begins retrieving and processing WEX fuel transactions in real-time.
