AtoB Fuel Card Integration

Overview

AtoB offers a next-generation fuel card tailored to maximize savings, averaging $0.43 per gallon, while seamlessly integrating with Azuga.

By directly integrating Azuga telematics data (including location, fuel level, and usage metrics) into AtoB, users can:

  • Instantly identify and block suspicious transactions in real-time.
  • Gain immediate visibility into driver and vehicle fuel expenditures.
  • Automate workflows to minimize manual tracking and mitigate potential theft or misuse.

Integration Summary and Key Benefits

Location and Fuel Capacity Checks

  • Prevent unauthorized fuel transactions by ensuring purchases occur within a designated station radius and do not exceed the vehicle’s fuel tank capacity.

Real-Time Suspicious Activity Alerts

  • Stay ahead of potential fraud with real-time monitoring. Instantly receive SMS and email alerts for flagged transactions through the Suspicious Activity Report.

Automated Controls and Cost Center Tags

  • Set customized controls on when, where, and how drivers can use their AtoB fuel cards. Automatically tag transactions for seamless accounting and faster bookkeeping.

Pair Drivers to Vehicles

  • Enhance accountability by linking drivers to specific vehicles, making it easy to track transactions and fuel usage.

Optimal Station Selection

  • Maximize fuel savings with AtoB’s discount network and routing tools, guiding drivers to the lowest-priced stations—saving an average of 21¢ per gallon.

Integration Setup Process

Prerequisites

AtoB Account

  • Must have an AtoB admin role to manage telematics connections and card permissions.

Azuga Account and Credentials

  • Requires a valid Azuga login to connect AtoB with your vehicles’ telematics data.

Vehicle Matching

  • Determine how vehicles will be recognized (VIN, license plate, etc.).
  • Pairing vehicles with specific drivers enhances location tracking and usage monitoring.

Policy Decisions

  • Decide when to enable transaction blocking for suspicious purchases.
  • Follow AtoB best practices—collect at least one month of suspicious activity data before activating blocking.

Integration Setup Steps

1. Connect Azuga to AtoB

  • Log into AtoB: Access your AtoB dashboard.

Go to Telematics: Navigate to the Telematics section and select the Connect tab.

    Choose Azuga and Authorize:

2. Pair Drivers to Vehicles

  • Go to Vehicles / Cards in AtoB.
  • For each vehicle, use the Assign Driver dropdown to pair a driver with a specific truck or vehicle.
  • Confirm the pairing and repeat for all vehicles you want to track.

3. Monitor and Enable Transaction Blocking (Optional)

  • Review the Suspicious Activity Report to identify potential fraud.
  • Monitor transactions for at least one month before enabling Transaction Blocking (recommended).
  • Once enabled, AtoB will automatically decline suspicious transactions in real time.

4. Utilize the Maps Feature (Optional)

  • Go to Trucks Map under Telematics to track real-time routes.
  • Select a vehicle or driver to view detailed route data, including coordinates, timestamps, and exceptions.

5. Validate Data Flow

  • Verify that recent transactions display vehicle location and tank capacity in AtoB’s portal.
  • Confirm you receive SMS/email alerts for flagged transactions.
  • Ensure the driver’s name appears in AtoB’s route maps if properly assigned.

Technical Details

How AtoB Integrates with Azuga

  • API-Driven Data Exchange: AtoB uses API connections to Azuga to access location, fuel capacity, and real-time telematics data.
  • Vehicle Identification: AtoB references unique identifiers (e.g., VIN, license plate) to track vehicles.
  • Driver Assignment: Drivers can be manually linked to vehicles in Vehicles / Cards for improved clarity and mapping within the AtoB dashboard.

Transaction Monitoring and Blocking

  • Fraud Detection:
    • Transactions occurring outside a 100-meter range from the vehicle’s last known location or exceeding fuel tank capacity are flagged.
    • If blocking is enabled, flagged transactions are automatically declined.
    • Blocking Modes:
    • Default: Suspicious transactions are logged but not automatically declined.
    • Opt-In: Enable real-time transaction blocking after reviewing suspicious activity data.

Data Flow and Processing

  • Location & Fuel Data: Pulled from Azuga at regular intervals (typically near real-time).
  • Card Transactions: Appear instantly in AtoB, with fraud checks happening as soon as telematics data is available.
