What is the difference between "Possible Impact/Crash Observed" and "Collision Detected" events?
The terms "Possible Impact/Crash Observed" and "Collision Detected" refer to two distinct events within the breadcrumb that are related to vehicle impacts. Both are based on telemetry data from the vehicle's sensors, but they differ in how they are triggered and what they signify.
Possible Impact/Crash Observed: This event is triggered whenever a vibration or impact is detected around the vehicle. It relies on the vehicle's g-sensors. This event indicates that an impact may have occurred, but it is not confirmed to be a collision.
Collision Detected: This event is determined through a more advanced process. After an impact is detected, the data is analyzed by our collision detection algorithm. If the algorithm confirms that the impact meets specific criteria for a collision, it is categorized as a "Collision Detected" event. This designation means that a collision has likely occurred based on the analyzed data.
